Breeks Docs

WhatsApp setup

Verify your WhatsApp, connect project groups, and review delivery.

WhatsApp and project email are supported external channels. Your Breeks administrator enables the connection and provides the Breeks WhatsApp number for your team.

For member commands and everyday use, see Use Breeks in WhatsApp.

Setup for administrators

  1. Open Project settings → WhatsApp. If the connection is unavailable, ask your Breeks administrator to enable it.
  2. Choose Verify my WhatsApp. Send the generated /breeks verify TOKEN privately to Breeks, then return to the browser and select This is my WhatsApp.
  3. Have a group admin add the Breeks number to the intended group. As a verified project manager, choose Create connection code, personally post /breeks connect CODE in that group, review its name and participants, then choose Connect and introduce Breeks. Codes expire after ten minutes.
  4. Existing project members can verify their own WhatsApp at /projects/{project_id}/whatsapp. Verification does not grant project membership or additional permissions.

New accounts from WhatsApp

When chat signup is enabled, someone without a Breeks account can message the Breeks number, reply JOIN and send their email. Breeks creates their account with a Default project and emails a sign-in link for the web app. This does not add them to your projects: invite them as a member as usual.

Someone who already has a Breeks account should verify their WhatsApp from project settings instead. Breeks never links a WhatsApp number to an existing account from an email typed in chat.

How projects connect

One paired Breeks number serves the deployment. Each connected group maps to one project; a project can connect several groups. Verified personal numbers can access multiple projects according to their existing memberships and permissions. In private chat, /project opens the project menu, which currently shows only the first 30 eligible projects.

Breeks checks the sender's project membership and permissions before handling a request. The agent saves project records and their audit history in Breeks. The saved Breeks record is the source of project truth.

Identity and delivery

Breeks does not link identities by display name or assume a phone number and WhatsApp LID belong to the same person. Verify the identity before linking it. Messages received before linking are not replayed as authorized requests.

Replies to group requests go to the same group, including draft previews, questions and drawing choices. Only the requester can confirm or reject a proposal with /breeks confirm CODE or /breeks reject CODE, or choose a drawing with /breeks choose CODE NUMBER or /breeks skip CODE. Permissions and confirmation requirements still apply. Direct-message requests and scheduled reminders remain private.

Project managers review WhatsApp delivery activity in Project settings → WhatsApp. Uncertain deliveries must be checked in WhatsApp and marked Verified sent or Dismiss; they cannot be retried automatically. Only definite failed deliveries offer Retry. Verification and group setup remain in project settings.

Member guidance

Share the WhatsApp user guide with the team. It covers requesting RFIs, choosing a project or drawing, attachments, and coordination replies.
