Upload and find files

Build a project file library that your team can search and use.

Keep project files in Documents so the team can find them alongside related questions, answers, and work.

Upload

  1. Open Documents and choose upload.
  2. Select a PDF or image: PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
  3. Choose the document type and enter a useful title or document number.
  4. Upload and open the file. Check its details and add relevant tags.

Types can cover drawings, reports, specifications, contracts, and your own categories. Use a supported PDF or image for each. Add categories in project settings.

Metadata

Accurate titles, numbers, and tags make files easier to find. For drawings, check the trade, level, and revision too.

Breeks prepares previews and searchable text after upload. If a file is still processing, allow it to finish before searching its content.

Automatic text processing covers the first 20 pages by default. Later pages can open in the viewer, but a visible preview does not necessarily mean that page's text is searchable.

Tags

Add tags from the library or viewer to group files in ways that help your team, such as a work package or location. Tags belong to documents and records.

Enter a title, number, or a phrase such as “latest level 3 fire protection plan.” Narrow results with the available type, trade, level, or tag filters.

Check the result's details before using it. Drawing searches show current revisions by default; open a drawing's revision history to find older versions.

Clear file details and useful links also improve the project context available to AI.
